Meet the Educators

Carolyn HornellCarolyn Hornell brings high energy and enthusiasm to the classroom, and delights in making children sparkle with wonder and delight.

Having grown up playing piano and violin, her instrument today is voice. She enjoys singing in the Burstin’ With Broadway choir, and loves being serenaded by children all day long. She is the mother of two: Jacob 6, and Piper 3.

Carolyn strongly believes that serious learning can be seriously silly; Mozart isn’t musty, and Hayden needn’t hide. Come explore music and movement with child-like abandon with your favourite little person. You’ll be so glad you did!

jessicaJessica Hansen is thrilled to be a licensed Kindermusik educator. Her lifelong passion for the arts and her love for children has driven her to keep the joy of music a constant thread in her life.
Jessica attended Sheridan College for musical theatre, has trained in jazz and ballet, has a strong background in choral work and has been professionally performing in her band, JP Hansen, for the past several years. Click here to see her incredible website and listen to clips of the band!

Jessica is excited about the opportunity to teach curriculum that will enhance, educate, and bring joy to the smallest and most important people in our lives. She brings a fresh sense of enthusiasm and playfulness to all her Kindermusik classes. She is committed to the values of Kindermusik and honors the uniqueness of each child. Jessica appreciates the benefits and joy music has brought to her life, and is thrilled she can do the same for the children she teaches.

Kindermusik With Notable Kids is lucky to have Jessica teaching with us! Jessica has completed her Montessori training, and is currently taking her ECE as well.

Jessica has a baby girl under one year, and will be heading up classes in our new Vancouver location this September.

Katie Collins

Katie, who grew up in Portland, Oregon, has been singing and dancing since she was a little girl. Having grown up in a musical home environment, she studied violin and piano as a girl and began taking voice lessons in high school. She completed her BA in Music & Psychology at Seattle Pacific University in 2008 and that’s when she found Kindermusik! There’s nothing Katie can imagine that would better combine her two loves: music and children. The magic that happens in the Kindermusik classroom brings her immense joy. She hopes to meet you and your children soon!

When she’s not teaching, Katie can be found running, cooking, spending time with her newlywed husband, and pursuing her dream of singing opera. Katie and her husband relocated to Vancouver in September 2010 to allow Nate to continue his studies.
